These figures are built up from the neighbourhood (LSOA and Data Zone) data behind every Carbon & Place tool. Neighbourhoods sit wholly inside local authority boundaries, so each one is counted once and in the correct council, and combining them introduces very little uncertainty. Counts are added together, averages are weighted by population, meters, or dwellings, and medians are weighted approximations, because an exact median needs records for individual households or meters.
