Reports

Reports draw together data from all the Carbon & Place tools into a single summary for a place. They are useful when you want the full picture for one area, such as a council area or a constituency, rather than a national map of one measure. Search by postcode for your own neighbourhood, or choose a local authority, ward, parish, or Westminster constituency below.

Local Authorities

Local authority figures are built up from neighbourhood (LSOA) data. Neighbourhoods sit wholly inside council boundaries, so each is counted once and in the right place, which makes this data easily cross-comparable.

Wards

Wards are often smaller than a neighbourhood (LSOA), so each neighbourhood is divided between the wards it covers according to where its residents live. The split is a well-founded estimate rather than a measurement, so read figures for small wards with more caution.

Parishes

Parish figures carry the most uncertainty. A parish is frequently much smaller than a neighbourhood (LSOA), so several parishes may share one between them, and the figures for a small parish partly describe the wider area around it.

Westminster Parliamentary Constituencies

A constituency typically contains around seventy neighbourhoods (LSOAs), each counted whole in the constituency holding most of its residents. Neighbourhoods split by a boundary go entirely to one side, which has a minor effect on the totals especially in Scotland.
